As Maintenance Planning Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our Kelowna production facility by planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities that drive operational excellence.
About Canrim Packaging Ltd.
A division of Andrew Peller Ltd., Canrim Packaging has been providing bottling and packaging services since 1994. Based at the Calona Wines/Sandhill Winery facility in downtown Kelowna, we specialize in bottling a diverse portfolio of Andrew Peller branded beverages, including wine, cider, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic products.
In addition to our premium wines, we produce International Domestic Blend (IDB) wines, combining high-quality international and Canadian wines under brands like Cooper Moon, Honest Lot, XOXO, and our popular cider No Boats on Sunday.
The Role
Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planning Specialist is responsible for developing and executing maintenance plans that support uptime, quality, and safety across the facility. This includes maintenance of the winery, packaging line, warehouse, and general plant operations.
You will ensure the timely sourcing and availability of materials, services, and parts while maintaining compliance with GMP, HACCP, and Health & Safety standards. This role also supports the ongoing development of preventive and predictive programs, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability and plant performance.
What this teammate will be responsible for -
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work across all production and facility assets.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to develop and deliver weekly schedules that support production goals.
Maintain and optimize the CMMS system for accurate tracking of work orders, asset data, and maintenance history.
Parts, Inventory & Vendor Management
Manage spare parts inventory to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and oversee vendor performance.
Build strong partnerships with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
Support the Maintenance Manager in implementing strategies that improve maintenance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Identify, analyze, and drive improvements in maintenance systems and workflows.
Promote a culture of proactive problem solving and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Leadership Support
Work collaboratively with operations leaders and the trades team to plan and allocate maintenance resources.
Support scheduling and coordination of a unionized workforce.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to safety, engagement, and performance discussions.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Quality, GMP, HACCP, and Health & Safety standards.
Promote and uphold a strong safety and food safety culture throughout the facility.
Participate in risk prevention and hazard identification initiatives.
What this teammate will bring -
Journeyperson (Interprovincial Red Seal) Electrical or Mechanical certification preferred; equivalent technical background considered.
3–5 years of experience in maintenance planning, asset management, or reliability engineering in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience in a unionized facility and comfort working with collective agreements.
Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process equipment.
Proficiency with CMMS systems (SAP, Fiix, Maximo) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Compensation at Andrew Peller Limited is determined using competitive, local market data and reflects the skills and experience needed for each role. In some cases, we may consider compensation above the posted range for exceptional candidates who bring many years of experience.
