TELUS Health Care Centre, Edmonton is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to provide locum coverage for our established clinical team. This role offers the opportunity to practice to full scope using a holistic, family-centered approach while delivering preventative care to our patients. You'll work within a collaborative, allied health model alongside a tight-knit team of Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and allied health professionals including but not limited to Registered Nurses, Dieticians, and Exercise Physiologists.

Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $110/hour (contractor role)
Start Date: As soon as possible
What You'll Do:
As a Locum Nurse Practitioner, you will provide seamless continuity of care for established patient panels during regular Nurse Practitioner vacation coverage and support Physician panels, as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based primary care through comprehensive assessment, ordering diagnostic tests, performing procedures, prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, and initiating specialist referrals
Provide episodic and longitudinal care to LifePlus members across the lifespan
Conduct regular patient follow-up to promote health and educate on disease prevention and management
Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Physicians, and allied health team members to foster a team-based, interdisciplinary approach
Make internal and external referrals as appropriate
Deliver complex and specialized care, including prenatal care, pediatric health and wellness, and chronic disease prevention and management
Integrate the preventative care and allied health model across all patient interactions
Complete comprehensive Preventative Health Assessments including follow-ups, when required
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications
Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) degree or equivalent, with a post-Master's diploma (PMD)
Current registration as a practicing Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Nurse Practitioner category: Family Nurse Practitioner
Active, unrestricted provincial license(s) with prescribing and/or lab numbers
Active CPR AED Level C certification
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of primary care experience
Exceptional organizational skills with a positive, results-focused attitude
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and patients
Proficiency in technology-supported care, including familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
Commitment to delivering comprehensive patient-centered care with a focus on exceptional customer experience and achieving optimal outcomes
