Unposting Date: 2025-11-21 11:59 PM Your role We’re looking for an experienced journalist to lead a team that drives local, innovative storytelling on audio, digital, video and social platforms. Our search is for someone who’s decisive, creative and passionate and a team player. As a Multi-Platform Content Producer, you will lead a team to coordinate and participate in story chases while collaborating with Digital and Video Producers across the North and across Canada. You will have the opportunity to initiate ideas and projects to engage and grow our audiences by reflecting and amplifying complex Northern stories. There will be latitude for initiative and creativity while adhering to CBC journalistic and/or program policies, standards, and practices. You also have strong vetting skills. You can coordinate a small team, with some reporters located in rural communities, and work in harmony in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment, from pitch, to gathering, to roll out. The schedule for this position will be from Sunday to Thursday, noon to 8:45PM. We are looking for a candidate with the following: ● A relevant post-secondary degree or equivalent years of experience. ● Minimum of 5 years relevant experience of which 3 must involve work in broadcasting or a closely related industry. ● Strong understanding of the Yukon’s diverse social, political and cultural landscape. ● Demonstrated experience in leading a team or unit. ● Superior editorial decision making, critical thinking and listening skills. ● A thorough knowledge of CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. ● Demonstrated ability to exercise quick editorial judgment. ● Highly developed vetting skills. ● Ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively. ● Highly developed interpersonal skills. ● Highly developed organizational skills. ● Excellent writing and vetting skills for web, radio and television formats. ● Ability to work independently and also participate as a member of a production team. ● A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurance company. As required, you will perform the following tasks: ● Coordinate resources and coverage plans for daily content creation, special projects, series, remote broadcasts and streaming content ● Participate in the preparation of content for local, regional and national audiences, including assigning, researching, gathering, writing and editing. ● Write, vet and review scripts and safeguard CBC’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. ● Aid in the critical analysis around story selections, treatment and placement, and provide feedback on the same. ● Frequently contact newsmakers, organizations and community groups to develop a database of ideas for stories and/or programming specials. ● Provide regular feedback and coaching to experienced and developing journalists. ● Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, is required.
