As a Business Consultant, you will play a key role in modernizing and transforming the Motor Vehicles registry system. You will work within an agile environment to replace legacy applications with a modern, scalable system designed to support future growth and digital innovation.
Tasks
Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and conduct process walkthroughs.
Identify goals and pain points through gap analysis on current-state and future-state business processes.
Create, review, and update user stories, personas, and journey maps as applicable.
Develop system use cases, flow diagrams, and interactive mock-ups to outline functional requirements.
Document and validate requirements with subject matter experts and create detailed business and functional requirement specification documents.
Support the development of system documentation and provide recommendations for policy or procedural manuals.
Assist with change management and training initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of complex program changes.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and identify opportunities for backlog refinement and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with security and privacy teams to support threat and risk assessments (TRA) and privacy impact assessments (PIA).
Support project management activities including planning, scheduling, and status reporting.
Requirements
Proven experience providing business analysis or consulting services within a motor vehicle registries modernization project or a similar large-scale transformation initiative.
Strong ability to conduct gap analyses between legacy systems and modern digital solutions, identifying opportunities for process and system improvement.
Solid understanding of motor vehicle services operations, workflows, and related business processes within the Alberta registries context.
Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM), including participation in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups.
Results-driven and self-motivated, capable of working independently while effectively engaging with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to deliver project outcomes.
Proficiency in Agile/Hybrid delivery environments, with hands-on experience using tools such as JIRA or Confluence for requirement tracking and collaboration.
Strong knowledge and ability to interpret complex legislation, regulations, policies, and standards, and translate them into actionable business and system requirements.
