Job Summary
The Intern, Strategy supports the Strategy team by providing insights, analytics, and communications on external trends. The incumbent contributes to data-driven analytics, modeling the impacts of strategic choices, and providing research to guide executive decision-making.
This role is part of a small, collaborative team working with senior leaders to develop, enhance, and lead the strategic planning process — acting as an active organizer and constructive challenger while bringing external and fresh perspectives.
The position will also provide targeted analytical and research support to the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team, contributing to market scans, valuation support, and due diligence efforts.
Major Responsibilities
Perform and synthesize long-term market research for various commodities and sectors.
Conduct geographic, market, and benchmark analyses to identify competitive trends.
Support ongoing strategy and transformation projects through data analysis and presentation development.
Refresh and review key trends in transportation, logistics, and technology-driven business models.
Support tracking and reporting of ongoing strategic initiatives.
Assist the M&A team with:
Market mapping and identification of potential acquisition targets.
Preliminary financial and strategic assessments of target companies.
Analysis of industry consolidation trends and valuation multiples.
Preparation of materials for executive review.
Requirements
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent research and data interpretation abilities.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team.
Fluently bilingual (English and French, written and verbal).
Experience in data analytics, financial modeling, or market research is an asset.
Education
Working towards a Master’s degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Coursework or experience in corporate finance, valuation, or strategic management is an asset.
