About the Role
640 Toronto has an exciting opportunity for two Casual Radio Technical Producer’s to join our team, based at Corus Quay in Toronto.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the technical execution of live and recorded programming, including daily talk shows, features, paid programming, podcasts, and other audio productions.
You will contribute by:
Operating 640 Toronto’s master control board, MediaTouch, and Burli systems during live, local, and network shows.
Managing mic levels, phone calls, commercials, imaging elements, and all audio sources throughout each broadcast.
Setting up studios and preparing broadcast logs using MediaTouch.
Collaborating with show producers and hosts to support content creation and smooth execution.
Working closely with the newsroom to manage breaking news coverage.
Editing and uploading show audio, features, and other programming as required.
Skills and Experience You Will Bring:
Post-secondary education in Radio Broadcasting (completed or currently enrolled) preferred.
Strong production and audio editing skills (Adobe Audition, ProTools, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of MediaTouch and Burli systems, with solid technical/computer skills (Microsoft Office).
Ability to anticipate and react quickly to on-air situations.
Creative thinking with a strong sense for enhancing programming with sound and music elements.
Demonstrated passion for news/talk radio and interest in a career in broadcasting.
Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Familiarity with CRTC guidelines and an awareness of sensitivities in today’s social climate.
Commitment to respect, teamwork, and maintaining a workplace of informed, civilized discourse.
Awareness of current and past news events.
Positive attitude, excellent attention to detail, and solid math skills.
Flexibility to work full-time hours during holidays, cover shifts, and take on additional work as required.
