About the Role
The Legal, Regulatory and Governance Department in Corus has an exciting opportunity for someone with a legal background who is creative, a team player and passionate about new technology to join our team as a Contract Manager, Technology in our Toronto office.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and niche technology law team, and contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly changing media industry. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across the enterprise with respect to the licensing, development or implementation of new technology products and platforms (including Technology and IT Operations, Strategy and Product Development, and Sales and Advertising). This role is based in Toronto, Ontario and will report to the Head of Technology, Vendor and Data Governance Programs and Senior Counsel, Technology.
You will contribute by:
Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of technology agreements—from software licensing and product development to advertising platforms and NDAs.
Advise on contractual provisions relating to privacy, data protection, liability/indemnity and risk mitigation strategies.
Stay ahead of legal developments in tech law and contribute to internal knowledge-building.
Participate in and support cross-functional projects with teams in IT, Strategy, Product Development, and Sales.
Create guidelines, training materials, and conduct workshops to empower internal teams.
Maintain organized documentation using centralized systems.
Undertake other special projects, duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills and experience you will bring:
A graduate of law school (LLB/JD) or a university/college program with relevant experience.
Experienced (3+ years) in technology law and procurement—ideally in-house or at a tech company/law firm.
Skilled in managing complex legal matters independently and collaboratively.
Familiar with privacy, data ownership, cybersecurity, contractual rights and liabilities, due diligence and risk assessment;
A clear communicator with strong organizational and time management skills.
Practical and business-minded, adaptable, and passionate about continuous learning and process improvement.
A team player with a positive attitude and a customer-first mindset.
