ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT, FRONTING SOLUTIONS - TORONTO

Accountabilities:
Fronted (100%)
MGA Portfolio – day to day handling/oversight of existing MGA programs including review of new MGA proposals.
Individual Risk Portfolio – support for underwriting team including technical for agreements running through London.
New Fronting Agreements – end to end involvement in the creation of new fronting agreements.
Determine/confirm acceptability of the re/insurance partner, including financial and reputational review.
Confirm lines of business to be fronted fall within Trisura license and do not create channel conflict.
Confirm limits deployed fall within Trisura tolerance.
Review/negotiate reinsurance agreements including economics of the deal.
Risk Retained/Hybrid Fronting
Accounts produced through a reinsurance broker or direct placements.
Active engagement with the MGA including ongoing portfolio analysis and review.
Work with actuarial to ensure profitability of program and positive margin to Trisura.
Active involvement in the new business/renewal process including deal analysis, reinsurance placement/negotiation.
Non-Fronted Direct MGA Relationships:
Active handling/oversight of our existing direct MGA relationships.
Leverage the data/experience in our fronted MGA relationships to determine who merits direct delegation.
Portfolio analysis (qualitative and quantitative) of new MGA opportunities, including working with our actuarial resource to confirm deal acceptability.
Active involvement in the new business/renewal process including deal analysis, reinsurance placement/negotiation.
Liase with Claims department, Finance/Accounting as required.
Liase with AVP Reinsurance to ensure efficient quarterly reporting.
General collaboration in our team-oriented company including with members of other departments (underwriting teams, marketing/distribution)
LI-Hybrid
