Centres for Early Learning, fully licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and Toronto Children’s Services, is made up of nine childcare centres serving communities in various high need areas of Toronto, Canada. We believe that the right learning environment supports child development. With programs for infants to children 12 years of age, our centres offer fun, educational environments that parents trust and rely on. ECA
Qualifications
Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test
Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Infants to School Age).
Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents.
Excellent teamwork skills
Confident and flexible professionalism
Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) is to support the RECE in planning and implementing a program and daily activities
Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
Supports the direction and participate with children in all planned activities.
Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom
ECE
Qualifications
An ECE diploma from a recognized Ontario college
Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educator
Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test
Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to co-ordinate and lead her/his team in planning and implementing a program and daily activities
Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips, and special activities.
Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
Incorporate the four (4) foundations of learning – Belonging, Well-being, Engagement, Expression into daily programming to ensure optimal learning and healthy development of the children
Communicate regularly with parents regarding development of children.
Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
Direct and participate with children in all planned activities.
Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
Attend and contribute to staff meetings and in-house professional development whether during or after regular work hour
Some daily requirements and components to the job you will need to consider are:
Flexibility between the hours of 7:00am – 6:00pm.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Eligibility to work in Canada.
