Precision Well Servicing is the largest service rig provider in Canada, with an impressive fleet of equipment, service rig professionals and strong relationships with top-tier companies. Precision is currently seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to join our team. This position and successful candidate will be operating out of Brooks, AB.
The Field Superintendent is responsible for crews and equipment in their designated division. They assure adherence to operation standards; provide direction to field operations, schedule, plan and allocate work to field staff, evaluate, and terminate field service employees. This individual is familiar with all areas of field equipment and operations.
Essential Job Functions
Implement policies, procedures, and organizational structure for assigned operating division within the framework of corporate policy
Monitoring availability and flow of personnel as well as hiring, motivating and assigning teams to projects
In conjunction with the Operations, responsible for maintaining good working relationships and promoting good public relations with the employees, customers and the communities in our operational areas.
Responsible for the future outlook for division and in investigating all leads connected with the securing of new work.
Provide a safe and efficient work environment of all employees under your direct supervision. This includes giving the necessary direction to the Rig Managers and other employees as assigned by the Vice President, Operations or Operations Manager.
Ensure all personnel have required tickets and valid driver’s license.
Ensure all Rig Managers are calling in their daily report in a timely manner.
When the rigs are available ensure that all trucks and crews are prepared to go to the next job immediately.
Responsible for all company trucks and equipment in your operation area. This includes compliance with all company operating procedures and policies as well as federal and provincial regulations and standard. Maintain CVIP and picker certifications on an annual basis.
Ensure all company trucks and equipment undergo regular maintenance. This includes a regular inspection schedule to be conducted by you as per schedule set out by Operations; this process should be complete with documentation.
Ensure all necessary paperwork is received and processed on a timely basis. This includes purchase orders, tour reports, inspection reports, new employee information, maintenance reports, etc.
Ensure that you track visits to location.
Complete monthly rig inspections.
As part of the monthly inspection processes ensure all required documentation is in the cab of the trucks.
Ensure the completion of on all action items.
Ensure all incident reports and required action items are fully completed.
Communicate on a day-to-day basis with Operations regarding upcoming work, repairs to equipment, rental items, contact with customers, placement of equipment, etc. These communications will also include the Rig Manager(s), when necessary.
All expenditures for the purpose of repair or renovation will be submitted by work request form to the Operations. No work is to be carried out until written approval is received.
Be aware of and promote safe operating records of your area’s personnel and equipment. Ensure all hazards, near-misses and accidents are reported to Operations promptly and properly. Ensure there is a safety meeting with all management and available Rig Managers once per month.
Provide support for Rig Managers by being on location during a startup operation with a new customer and immediately following an incident/ accident.
Be directly involved in all investigations regarding accident, incident, environmental concerns, and operational break downs to ensure proper coordination of repairs, reporting, or clean-up.
Responsible for all loss control in your area. This includes the review and implementation of recommendations concerning the elimination of hazards found in equipment or procedures the reduction of loss due to poor maintenance or management of equipment supplies, and the close scrutiny of all non-chargeable kilometers associated with these reports.
You are to make yourself familiar with all aspects of the company’s policies and procedures manual. Have a good working knowledge of this manual is essential for the day-to day operations of our organization.
Valid driver’s license in essential to perform the duties of your position.
Compliance with the company’s drug and alcohol policy is required at all times including while you are on call.
Review and authorize all field documentation prior to distribution to other department.
