What You Will Do
Reporting directly to the Manager of Capital Assets, the Building Technologist is responsible for ensuring GVHS assets are maintained and renovated to high standards. This position supports the GVHS strategic goals of providing Great Places to Live, Planning for the Future, and Organizational Excellence.
What You Bring
The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with maintenance staff, office staff, contractors and tenants.
The ability to respond to issues with diplomacy and tact while communicating in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to de-escalate situations to communicate respectfully and problem-solve with tenants.
Knowledge of construction and project management.
The ability to set priorities and handle a number of different issues at one time while maintaining safety and efficiency.
The ability to keep accurate records and complete standardized forms in writing and on a computer.
Knowledge of building preventative maintenance processes and procedures.
Knowledge of building/civil construction materials.
Physical ability to navigate safely an active construction site (stairs, ladders, scaffolding etc).
Graduate of an Architectural Technologist/Technician, Architect or Building Technician program (or a combination of comparable experience and education) an asset

Provision of own vehicle required.
Hours of Work as provided in the Collective Agreement.
Field Dress Code.
Compensation: $35.42/hr (35 hour work week)2025 rates
