Your Impact
You’ll partner with the Director of Accounting to oversee financial reporting and help develop and maintain accounting procedures and practices that ensure our financial statements are accurate and delivered on time.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the Controller with workflow process improvements and special projects.
Collaborate with direct reports to establish annual objectives and goals, providing guidance and feedback to foster professional growth.
Address employee relations issues, including absenteeism, performance, and conflict resolution.
Assist in designing and implementing procedures and features that enhance the accounting department’s efficiency and workflow.
Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met by members of the finance team.
Respond to inquiries from the Controller and other senior managers in a timely and professional manner.
Train and advise new and existing staff on complex or non-routine reporting transactions.
Monitor and analyze departmental operations to improve efficiency, resource utilization, and accuracy.
Adhere to all internal quality standards, technical regulations, and industry best practices.
Participate in the performance management and development process by setting, tracking, and achieving work goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Your Skills & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Certification: CPA designation highly preferred.
Experience: Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar leadership role, ideally within the environmental or consulting industry.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable accounting standards.
Systems Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software such as NetSuite or similar platforms; experience with property management software is required.
Financial Expertise: Solid background in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Core Knowledge: In-depth understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Your Compensation
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Work Schedule & Flexibility
This is a temporary position created to cover a maternity leave. The targeted start date is flexible, with an expected start between December 2025 and February 2026, and an anticipated end date of approximately June 2027.
The work schedule will be a standard Monday – Friday, 8 hrs daily, 40 hours weekly schedule. The role is based out of our Vancouver BC office location, and we offer a hybrid work model—a combination of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility—to support work-life balance while staying connected with your team.
