What You’ll Do:
Working closely with the Regional Health & Safety Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture across our sites. You'll implement safety protocols, conduct training, and serve as the main point of contact for all health and safety matters.
Your main responsibilities include:
Joint Health & Safety Committee: Set up and lead meetings, coordinate inspections, investigate work refusals, and collaborate with the Ministry of Labour when needed.
Site Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections, ensure corrective actions are followed through, monitor air quality, and help secure the site daily.
Incident & Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency and evacuation plans, provide first aid, investigate incidents, and recommend preventive measures.
Training & Awareness: Deliver site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to ensure all trades and workers understand safe work practices.
Administrative Support: Manage permits, inspection reports, qualification tracking, safety boards, and documentation related to compliance and enforcement.
What We’re Looking For
Must hold an NCSO designation or demonstrate equivalent safety certification and experience
Degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation and best practices
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Calm under pressure and capable of influencing safe behavior
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
CPR/First Aid Certification
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
