Position Summary:
The Timbuktu Trailblazers Employment Program Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Timbuktu Employment Program by developing and maintaining strong relationships with employers, community partners, and other stakeholders. This role focuses on identifying placement opportunities for program participants, coordinating employer engagement activities, and promoting the visibility and impact of the program within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain partnerships with employers, local businesses, and community organizations to secure employment and volunteer placements for youth participants.
Conduct outreach activities including site visits, presentations, networking events, and follow-up meetings to strengthen partnerships.
Collaborate with the program team to match participants to suitable employment opportunities based on their skills, interests, and career goals.
Track and document all outreach activities, partnership agreements, and placements in the program database.
Support in organizing job fairs, employer panels, and networking sessions for participants.
Provide ongoing communication and support to employers to ensure successful placements and positive relationships.
Contribute to program evaluation by gathering employer feedback and success stories.
Represent the program professionally in community events and public engagements.
Assist in program promotion, recruitment, and intake of eligible youth.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Social Work, Career Development, Human Services, Education, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in employment counselling, youth programming, or outreach coordination.
Demonstrated experience working with racialized and marginalized youth populations.
Strong understanding of the systemic barriers youth face in accessing employment and education.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with digital tools for communication, documentation, and facilitation.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, youth-centered environment.
Requirements:
This position requires a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a reliable vehicle, as travel between locations may be necessary.
