Work Order Entry Clerk, Night Shift Location: ALS Geochemistry Reports to: Sudbury Branch Manager General Accountability: This position is responsible for entering client work orders in to the GEMS proprietary system accurately and in a timely fashion. Specific Responsibilities: Enters data and maintains entry requirements by following data program procedures. Reviews output to test for accuracy; Verifies, corrects, deletes, re-enters data and purges files to eliminate data duplication; Completes spreadsheets, data logs and backups and follows all data processing policies and procedures. Reports necessary changes to Manager; Answers phone inquiries related to work order entry, directing calls, and taking messages when necessary; Participates as a solid team player and maintains client confidentiality; Filing, and processing a variety of paperwork; Inventory of office and prep supplies; Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager; Become familiar with ALS Laboratory Group analytical codes and procedures; Responsible for training of work order entry staff; follow up on “on hold” work-orders; Use correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality; Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures; Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook; Solid keyboarding skills with an emphasis on accuracy; Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to multi-task and to handle shifting priorities and changing workloads; Fluency in French would be an asset; Strong people skills and the ability to work in a team environment; Excellent customer service with the will and desire to help others; pleasant and professional telephone manner . Required Qualifications: Administration of Technical diploma in a related field preferred; 1-2 years relevant work experience in a geochemistry lab using a LIMS system; Previous experience working within a data entry capacity; Background in chemistry or geology would be an asset; Bilingualism an asset. Physical Demands: This position requires a person to sit up to 8 hours per day. This position requires excellent eyesight to view, edit and develop graphic design materials. Please note that ALS Geochemistry operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
