Job Summary
Reporting to the Community Program Coordinator, the Community Program Supervisor - Outreach is responsible for overseeing the delivery of Community Hub partnerships with local organizations, schools, and community stakeholders. It also includes special events, family drop-ins, cooking programs and youth leadership programs. This supervisory role includes the administration, onboarding, training, and performance management of part-time staff and volunteers, while ensuring community hub programs reflect the evolving needs of the community. The outreach supervisor will act as a primary liaison for community stakeholders, government and NGO agencies, while providing frontline support and building positive relationships that foster inclusive and impactful community focused programming.
Hours of work: 35 hours, willingness to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist Community Recreation Coordinator in providing direct supervision to the Aaniin Community Hub.
- Assist the Community Recreation Coordinator in the recruiting, onboarding, administration and supervision of all Community Hub partners.
- Assist Community Recreation Coordinator in developing and implementing key performance indicators that support the development of Healthy and Active Communities within Southeast Markham.
- Utilize evidence-based research such as Environics Data to identify community hub partners that reflect and address emerging community needs.
- Conduct regular customer satisfaction and partnership surveys to ensure Community Hub Partnerships and programs continue to be relevant to community needs.
- Supervise and support all activities and special events related to community hub groups, schools, NGO’s and other key stakeholders within the Southeast Area of Markham.
- Meet with community hub partners at minimum twice per season during regular scheduled bookings.
- Establish and maintain positive reciprocal partnerships with local schools. Conduct a minimum of 3 outreach programs per season within these schools.
- Develop and implement a meaningful Atrium animation activity schedule.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, payroll and managing performance of part-time staff and volunteers to support cooking programs, youth centre operations, and Atrium animation activities.
- Assist with the development and ongoing monitoring of operating budgets including identification of capital and equipment budget needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an annual Training Plan for part time program and drop-in staff.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish season schedules that reflect the needs of the community.
- Ensure an environment of customer service excellence exists when dealing with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of promotional materials and workshops.
Minimum Education & Experience:

Post secondary education (College diploma or University degree) in recreation or appropriate discipline.

Minimum three years full-time supervisory experience in a community centre.

Experience creating and delivering meaningful community outreach programs and initiatives

Current certifications in Standard First Aid and CPR.

Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License

Proficiency in MS office, experience with CLASS an asset.
