Key Qualifications:
Graduate from approved Health Information Management Program
Certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management
Maintain active membership with CHIMA
Experience in Health Information Management is essential
1 year or more experience Oncology coding and staging
Proficient in MED2020, Epic
Proficiency in ICD-10-CA/CCI and CIHI Coding Standards an asset
ICD-03 Staging experience required
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
Excellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
Attention to detail, organized and ability to concentrate in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently remotely from home
Position Summary:

Code patient records in accordance with CIHI, MoHLTC, CCO and internal requirements
Code according to ICD10CA, ICD-03 and CCI standards
Abstract all required patient information using the WinRecs abstract
Achieve and maintain expected quality standards
Accountable for the accuracy of coded information, performing regular quality checks on, and making corrections to the abstracted information
Consistently achieving the production quota on a monthly basis
Participate in departmental committees (in person if required)
Attend monthly coding meetings (in person if required)
Maintain ongoing communication with staff coders
Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all patient information
Work on and accrue continuous professional educational credits as required by CHIMA
