Position Summary:
Assumes new caseloads comfortably and competently, with a strong focus on occupational performance issues in the acute patient
Is an active member of the interdisciplinary team
Provides Occupational Therapy services in keeping with the College guidelines and Essential Competencies
Supervises support personnel in accordance with College guidelines
Participates in Professional Practice meetings as required
Supervises students and volunteers as appropriate
Participates actively in program planning and continuous quality improvement, thereby contributing to the overall vision/mandate of Occupational Therapy services at Trillium Health Partners
Provides workload measurement data as per MOH requirements
Key Qualifications:
Registered in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Has relevant experience managing acute adult patients who have a variety of conditions, particularly amputations, neurological, medical, and surgical adult populations
Demonstrates the ability to work on a dynamic, interdisciplinary team including families and community partners
Has effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and is able to be self-directed in a fast-paced, flexible working environment, balancing the needs of two unique teams
Has previous experience and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with Occupational Therapist Assistants
Seating and positioning and wound care experience are considered assets
