Under direction from the Operations Manager, the Operations Administrator is responsible primarily for the testing, successful implementation and continued development of the Waste Receiving Module within our proprietary operations software (OMS 3.0). Secondary duties are to act as backup and support for other administrator roles currently in place at the facility Job Duties • Develop an understanding the GFL Pickering ECA, TDG and Reg. 347 and how they apply to day to day operations; • Develop an understanding of day-to-day operations, as well as knowledge of all internal processes and inventory movements; • Develop an understanding of laboratory analytical data and how it determines final destination points for day-to-day incoming waste streams; • Emphasize the entry, accuracy , maintenance and management of the online database; • Documenting the receiving of incoming waste from manifests, bills of lading and work orders within OMS; • Working closely with Dispatch, Laboratory and Operations to verify incoming waste inventories; • Data entry as it pertains to completed laboratory analytical data referring to the associated manifest, bill of lading and work order information in a timely manner; • Working closely with Laboratory and Operations to manage the waste documentation/classification on hold process; • Completing document/waste receiving process in OMS, including the attachment of scanned receiving documents and preparation of the OMS file for transfer to billing review; • Working closely with Operations to track the on-site waste inventory with respect to processing; • Working closely with Dispatch and Operations to track the on-site waste inventory/document preparation with respect to outgoing shipments; • Work closely with the IT development team to integrate modules into day-to-day operations; • Prepare waste diversion and other related reports for customers upon request; • Provide OMS receiving support to other GFL locations, including when required, assignment to other locations; • Other tasks as assigned. Requirements • Desire and motivation to gain knowledge about the industry in multiple facets to develop professional skills within the waste management space; • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook with emphasis on Excel; • Diploma in office administration diploma and related disciplines; • Preference given to those with familiarity/experience in chemistry, waste management environmental science and related disciplines; • Minimum 60 WPM typing speed; • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and foster relationship growth in a professional setting; • Capable of empathetic listening and conflict resolution in a fast paced and high volume environment; • Excellent communication skills in oral and written English; • Ability to independently resolve problems within one’s scope of authority and understanding of when to escalate to superiors; • Solid personal integrity and dedication; • Ability to work without supervision; • Willing to work overtime, alternate shifts and occasional weekends. #GFLTalent We thank you for your interest.
