Summary
With a passion for care towards residents, families and team members, the Stores
Attendant maintains and monitors inventory which includes receiving, stocking,
replenishing and monitoring top-up systems and recycling program management.
Essential duties, responsibilities, and performance measures

Resident Centered Care: Promotes service excellence through assisting
residents, families, and Interdisciplinary Team members in meeting the needs of
residents.
- Ensures that adequate supplies are maintained at the site to ensure the
provision of care for the residents.
- Delivers supplies to units on an as needed basis.
2. Documentation: Accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of material
management in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures.
- Submits requisitions for supplies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provides shipping and receiving services for the facility.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies and ensures that stock is used in the
order it was received.
- Organizes and stocks supply rooms in resident care area.
- Assists the Business Office in reconciling any inventory variances.
3. Safety: Contributes to a safe environment for residents, the team and self
by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of safety policies and procedures and avoids
unsafe work practices.
- Identifies and mitigates unsafe conditions in the work environment, including
immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions.
- Demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies and procedures.
- Participates in emergency and fire drills, and understands fire, WHMIS, MSIP
and general safety procedures.
4. Pro-active Learner: Demonstrates the vision and values of Bethany and lives

- Liaises with Materials Management team on any orders or requisitions.
- Works with Interdisciplinary Team to ensure that adequate inventory is
maintained in all units at the site.
Qualifications
Experience
- Previous experience in a continuing care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical supplies preferred.
Additional Skills
- Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication
skills.
- Experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Computer literacy is required using email, tracking forms, and placing online
orders.
