Technical Support Engineer - Onsite Position The Technical Support Engineer is a direct customer-contact position responsible for delivering technical support to internal and external customers, facilitating the effective use of Curtiss-Wright developed products (hardware & software). Your Challenge: To be a primary technical contact for customers – working with them to provide application support, fault isolation and debug, sub-system integration and technical assistance, in accordance with Curtiss-Wright support policies Interface with internal Repair and Warranty Service and Engineering groups at Curtiss-Wright Provide professional, timely and effect support as required, potentially including on site support Perform technical investigations relating to embedded computer hardware and software - trouble-shoot problems and provide solutions by applying sound engineering practices Generate code/applications to demonstrate capabilities of Curtiss-Wright and 3rd party products Create ad hoc customer-facing documentation, including procedures and application notes Accurately maintain internal log of correspondence and technical interactions with customers Become an expert with assigned Curtiss-Wright products, and proficient with all current Curtiss-Wright products; and, Continuously broaden your technical skill set and knowledge to stay current with relevant technologies related to Curtiss-Wright products What you Bring: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Electronic Technologist degree/diploma - or equivalent – preferred (a combination of education and experience will be considered) Experience working with Mil/Aero equipment/customers an asset Minimum 2 years relevant experience A working ability to program in ‘C.’ Strong knowledge of Linux configuration and usage Working knowledge of MS Windows installation/usage Fluent in the use of standard MS Office elements (Outlook, Excel, Word) Track record in problem solving, with desire and ability to learn quickly Strong interpersonal skills with customer-centric focus and ability to maintain satisfied customer relationships Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated and team oriented, capable of managing time & priorities well under pressure Familiarity with some/all of the following an asset: CISCO switch configuration, Real Time operating systems (like VxWorks), VME, VPX, PCI, PCIe, PC104, COM-Express, mini PCIe, SERDES-based ethernet, mSATA, MIL-STD-1553, RS232/422, I2C, IPMI, software defined radio (SDR), FPGA development, CUDA, conduction cooling Ability to use tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc. to debug/investigate hardware operation is an asset Who We Are: Our Values Environmental, Social and Governance At our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario, we manufacture rugged products optimized for high-mix, high quality and small batch sizes typical of military requirements.
