CHARACTERISTIC JOB DUTIES: The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class: Keep a high standard of cleanliness in the Thrift Store, Offices, Common areas, washrooms etc Sweep/vacuum hallways/offices/thrift store Maintain the Ministry Unit Grounds including snow shovelling/lawn mowing/sidewalk maintenance Ensure the ministry unit is safe for customers and staff (clear fire exits, working smoke detectors, clean spillage) Transportation and disposal of all unsaleable items to the landfill Be willing to work in the sorting area when and if necessary Treat each customer fairly, in a pleasant and professional manner. Performs other duties as assigned. NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license. To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine Basic mechanical aptitude Knowledge of WHIMIS A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own. A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness. An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada. PHYSICAL EFFORT/DEXTERITY REQUIRED: The performance of the job requires frequently standing for long periods of time, pushing and pulling, lifting, kneeling and occasionally twisting, bending, crouching, reaching and reaching overhead and the ability to lift heavy objects. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $15.35 to $17.83 with a maximum of $21.40. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
