The CAPEX Procurement Specialist plays a key role in providing tactical and operational support to engineering projects by ensuring the procurement of capital equipment and industrial services. Embedded within project teams, this individual actively contributes to the success of initiatives by coordinating suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Through a strong command of procurement processes and close collaboration with stakeholders, the specialist ensures smooth and compliant execution of capital investment projects. What this role involves: Manage daily procurement activities for assigned capital projects, including RFQ preparation, bid comparison, purchase order issuance, and supplier follow-up Ensure compliance with procurement processes, including supplier validation, specification alignment, and commercial terms Participate in project kick-offs and weekly coordination meetings with engineering teams to identify procurement needs and timelines Act as the point of contact for suppliers regarding documentation, logistics, and delivery updates aligned with construction schedules Draft and manage project-specific purchase contracts under the supervision of the category manager or legal department Monitor supplier compliance with commercial and technical terms, including warranties and delivery milestones Report any performance or delivery risks to the category manager and engineering leads as needed Maintain key supplier documentation (NDAs, insurance certificates, technical sheets, etc.) Support the implementation of standardized work methods for capital procurement, including templates and best practices Maintain procurement records and contracts in accordance with audit and compliance requirements Contribute to the development of procurement guides, sourcing tools, and checklists Provide frontline support for procurement-related claims on projects where procurement was involved from the start Assist in collecting supplier performance data and coordinating documentation for claims or warranty compliance Participate in supplier onboarding and data maintenance in systems (supplier directory, contract tracking) Support data collection for spend analysis, project dashboards, and KPI reporting Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and supplier accountability Actively contribute to Agropur’s asset transformation, supporting over $6 billion in investments over the next 10 years Gain hands-on experience in large-scale industrial projects and strategic procurement initiatives Develop expertise in capital equipment sourcing and supplier management within multidisciplinary project teams What you need to join our team: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or capital projects (an asset) Strong knowledge of capital equipment, construction projects, or industrial service procurement preferred Practical understanding of RFQ processes, purchase orders, basic contract principles, and ERP systems Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a project-driven environment Proven ability to drive organizational change through strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills High-level leadership skills including strategic thinking, teamwork, relationship-building, and change management experience Results-oriented, performance-driven, self-motivated, and able to inspire others to achieve positive outcomes Strong business acumen, understanding of current and future policies, practices, trends, technologies, and market dynamics Excellent time management and multitasking abilities Commitment to meeting internal and external customer expectations Sound decision-making based on analysis, experience, and judgment Demonstrated functional and technical knowledge, with a quick learning ability and high performance Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and industry-specific software Intermediate math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, comparative analysis, measurements, statistical analysis) Entrepreneurial mindset with interest or experience in program development Professional demeanor and ability to maintain constructive working relationships Create a customer-centric experience; committed to delivering high-quality services that meet internal and external client needs Promote continuous improvement; embrace change and seek innovative ways to improve work Demonstrate accountability; reliable and committed to achieving goals Build strong teams; foster an environment where people feel empowered to perform at their best Lead self-development; actively pursue personal and professional growth We’re ready—are you?
