The incumbent of the position will be leading the Credit team, who is responsible for the review and analysis of retail and lease financing requests. This person will provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure ownership and adherence to corporate risk standards and policies, while providing exceptional service to our dealers and brand partners.Possible Tasks within this Role
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all team activities and ensure that the workload is distributed effectively
Establish individual performance objectives supporting corporate objectives as it relates to risk management and customer satisfaction.
Work in collaboration with the Human Resources department in the process of selecting, hiring and training new employees.
Foster professional development of team members based on the needs of individuals as well as the organization.
Ensure that the department’s activities comply with established policies and regulations by completing monthly reviews.
Actively seek ways to improve current processes to meet customer and dealer expectations as well as market requirements.
Collaborate and support other departments such as Risk and Fraud to mitigate risk exposure.
Partner with Sales and Field Teams in resolving dealer and customer issues.
Lead efforts on key strategic initiatives that support ease of doing business for our customers and dealers.
Act as a budget custodian to ensure department funds are properly managed and vendor invoices are paid in a timely manner.
Qualification requirements
Education• Post-secondary diploma required• University degree is preferred (Business Management/Finance or other related fields)
Experience• 5 to 7 years of finance / banking experience required (including credit authorization and customer service)• Minimum 3 years of personnel management experience required• Experience in auto financing, an asset
Skills • Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written (French & English)• Strong analytical and negotiation skills• Ability to read financial statements• Good knowledge of Canadian consumer protection and fair credit laws / regulations• Proficiency in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Business Objects• Knowledge of accounting principles an asset
