We are currently hiring a Surfacing Technician to work in our Mississauga facility!
Pay rate: $22 per hour
Shifts Available: Monday to Friday 10pm - 6:30am

What you’ll do:
Prepare and surface lenses according to job specifications on DVI work ticket
Work in conformance with HOYA’s “Manufacturing Standards” in the production of eyewear to produce jobs right the first time, on-time, and according to HOYA Quality and Safety standards.
Support production conformance to minimum standards regarding:
% avg. days per job (turn around time)
% Breakage
Remake Ratio
Assist in the basic operation, cleaning and ongoing maintenance of laboratory tools and equipment by in accordance with to established maintenance procedures and calendars.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate /GED or equivalent experience
Optical training (asset)
Experience with machine operation preferred, 6 months to one year in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand machine schematics (asset)
Mechanical skills (asset)
basic math skills considered an asset (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day with some walking between stations
Low, moderate and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)
Work produced is subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
Near vision and sharp focus to adjust vision when doing close work.
Manual dexterity required to manipulate objects. Handling by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, lifting. pushing, pulling, or otherwise working with the hands, fingers, and upper body movement.
Often lifting/ carrying 10 lbs or less, pushing/ pulling 30 lbs or less.
Occasional lifting of 25-40 lbs.
