We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Burlington, ON as a Piping Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the technical support, organization and execution of a variety of consulting engineering assignments with primary responsibilities in the field of piping engineering and design
Responsible for all piping group function for assigned projects and provides supervisory and technical management for all piping personnel
Establishing awareness of ongoing regulatory requirements and industry standard best practices and able to work with TWD and Client design specifications; preparation and support of mechanical / piping design documents
Field Investigation and cost estimating
Initiates and monitors quality control checking
Monitors and supports internal “Safe Design” checks on project packages, squad check reviews, piping and drawing checking, bill of material checks, IFR and IFC checking
Develop and maintain strong working relationship with internal project team members and external clients
Maintains contact with project PM and disciplines leads to assure accurate, timely communications and flow of information is taking place and provide functional technical support in areas of piping design
Management of project deliverable, schedule, budget, scope of work. Responsible for piping resource assignments to projects (BST)
Assisting in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients
Responsible for coaching, teaching and effective training and supervision of assigned personnel
Qualifications
Technical diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering and engineering management in an EPCM environment, preferably in the industrial and petrochemical industry
Must possess leadership and coaching skills in the development, training and mentoring of team members
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to perform design engineering
Aptitude for seller-doer activities including building and maintaining client relationships, scoping new work, and resolving concerns
Desire and aptitude for developing and continually improving in-house engineering processes, procedures, templates, etc.
Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently when required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
