Position Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, IS PMO and IS Controls, the Senior Project Manager is a key leader in the successful delivery of Information & digital services projects at Trillium Health Partners (THP). This role is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing multiple complex projects that support strategic programs across the organization. Acting as a bridge between business processes, clinical requirements, and technology solutions, the Senior Project Manager ensures that projects are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with THP’s mission and goals. The ideal candidate brings advanced analytical skills, proven project management expertise, and exceptional interpersonal abilities to drive high-impact outcomes and foster collaboration among diverse groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and coordinate all aspects of multiple complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on time delivery, within scope, and budget.
Develop comprehensive project plans, work schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and communication documents in collaboration with involved parties
Produce business cases and proposals for senior leadership review and approval
Lead cross-functional teams across clinical, enabling, administrative, and IT domains, fostering strong relationships and effective communication
Assist with the implementation of effective project governance frameworks and templates
Drive continuous process improvement of Project Management best practices
Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues, including cybersecurity and privacy concerns
Manage scope changes and ensure smooth adoption through organizational change management practices
Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams for system integration, testing, and delivery of technical solutions
Contribute to the development and evaluation of RFPs and manage vendor relationships
Report on project and portfolio health to senior leadership and steering committees
Develop, manage, and deliver status reports, requirements documentation, and presentations
Conduct project post-mortems, lessons learned, and create recommendations for continuous improvement
Lead the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and business processes for project delivery and communication
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
Travel between hospital sites and remote locations as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
University degree or college diploma in computer science or equivalent
10+ years of experience in the IT industry
Minimum 5 years direct experience in project management roles, including process development and execution
Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare IT project delivery
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) in good standing
Working knowledge of project management and IT frameworks: Scrum, ITIL, PMBOK, Agile, TOGAF
In-depth knowledge of PMI’s PMBOK waterfall methodology and experience developing business cases, project charters, executive summaries, and scope definition documents
Familiarity with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC): design, development, testing, deployment
Experience in change management, integration, and improvement projects
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
Demonstrated experience in team and resource management
Proficient with Microsoft Project, Visio, Microsoft Office, SharePoint
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex, fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpretation skills
Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various organizational levels
Strong team building and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and direct teams to exceptional outcomes
Experience with relationship management and working with clinicians to integrate technology into practice
Familiarity with public-sector procurement and exposure to eHealth
