Position Overview
Air Canada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to lead the development and optimization of Revenue Management applications. This role blends product ownership with technical leadership, ensuring RM systems evolve to meet business needs while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and performance.
Reporting to the Director, Distribution Platform and Product Delivery, the Product Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to define and deliver the roadmap for RM applications.
Responsibilities
Create, manage, and prioritize the roadmap and backlog for various Revenue Management systems and applications.
Act as the key liaison between RM business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors to develop, evaluate, install, and test software enhancements aligned with business requirements.
Manage key stakeholder relationships and partner with Business Owners to define experiences that drive business outcomes.
Own the product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for Program Increment planning activities, working closely with technology providers.
Define, prioritize, and manage the feature backlog for your portfolio, and communicate the vision to agile delivery teams.
Lead a team of 2 to 3 product owners and mentor cross-functional teams to deliver enhancements and new capabilities.
Define and monitor KPIs to measure product performance and impact.
Drive continuous improvement through agile delivery practices and adoption of modern technologies.
Oversee the full product lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and IT governance.
Support business case development and contribute to budget planning for RM initiatives.
Collaborate with Solution Architects and other IT professionals to design scalable and resilient solutions.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure accountability for delivery and support.
Navigate high levels of technology complexity and make autonomous decisions regarding the adoption of best practices.
Prepare presentations and actively participate in meetings with senior leadership to communicate roadmaps, product updates, new features, and performance data.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in enterprise IT operations and design, including 3+ years in senior roles.
Proven experience in product management or application development within the airline or travel industry.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Scrum) and SDLC tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
Demonstrated experience in designing, assessing, and implementing software enhancement packages.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
Experience with ITIL, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise architecture.
Strong organizational and planning skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
Ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships.
Ability to provide clear direction and communicate effectively in both technical and business contexts.
Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
