Job Description: Position Purpose Summary: This position provides support to Resident Support Workers and Resident Support Team Leaders, packing up, storing, and disposing of resident belongings left at our facilities; attends laundry room, does laundry, and light housekeeping duties. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Program Responsibilities: Transports gear, supplies and mattresses. Completes and submits statistics. Communicate updates. Cleans the laundry room, lint traps, and disposing of garbage into the garbage bin weekly. Performs attendant duties in the Centre of Hope laundry room. Maintains laundromat supplies, report needed repairs in a timely manner, supply Residents with information as needed. Conducts Resident room pack-ups and places items in storage and arranges for long term storage of Resident belongings. Records all movement of residents' belongings in logbook. Tags all belongings; pulls belongings for resident pick-ups and disposes of belongings in accordance with policies and procedures. Reports unusual activity to Resident Support Team Leader or Manager. Delouses unhygienic or infested belongings. Removes, replaces and disinfects mattresses. Performs same functions for Corrections/Parole residents' gear, following restrictions and recommendations from Corrections Services Canada. Audits supplies and inventory once a month. Arranges for shipment of electronic items to Recycling Warehouse. Conducts room inspections as required or assigned, and completes follow ups as needed. May provide staff coverage at the West Desk as needed or assigned Attends program operational planning days. Administrative: Enters information in the gear book and database. Makes name tags. Assists at the West Desk as needed. Maintains confidentiality and accuracy of files. Attends monthly department staff meetings Reviews policies, procedures, and program guidelines. Provide suggestions for changes as needed. Reviews information and Resident forms to ensure correct information and relevance. Files previous years inactive files WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a part-time position at 16 hours per week. Weekly schedule is Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Works in a men's residential housing facility May have to deal with aggressive people. Potential for verbal, and less likely physical, attacks. Hours may vary; work schedule affecting lifestyle Exposure to infectious diseases Exposure to bodily fluids and sharp objects Risk of back injury. May experience monotony. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Completion of a High School diploma or equivalent Police Information Check (PIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search Standard First Aid and CPR Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements: Up to three months prior related experience. Skills and Capabilities: Physical endurance to stand and walk for most of the shift, as well as able to lift resident gear that is 20-50 pounds. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $18.14 to $22.68 with a maximum of $27.22. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
