The Duty Manager & Marina Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of both hotel and marina facilities. This hands-on leadership role ensures high standards of guest service, supports cross-departmental coordination, and manages marina tenant relations and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Front Office & Guest Services
Ensure superior customer service is consistently delivered by all Front Office team members.
Follow and comply with Coast's cash-handling policies and procedures.
Enforce and implement Front Desk procedures; support the Front Desk, Bell, Concierge, and Valet teams in the absence of the Rooms Operations Manager.
Resolve guest concerns promptly, professionally, and diplomatically.
Ensure all Front Office team members are trained and compliant with Coast standards.
Assist with performance reviews, coaching, and ongoing staff development.
Maintain strong communication and collaboration with all hotel departments.
Serve as the on-duty manager during assigned shifts, overseeing daily hotel operations.
Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by responding to inquiries, complaints, and service concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Conduct staff briefings when required and ensure smooth shift handovers.
Uphold property standards relating to cleanliness, guest experience, safety, and service delivery.
Handle the hotel’s fire safety responsibilities and support all emergency procedures.
Monitor room inventory and availability; ensure the team is knowledgeable on rates, promotions, and upsell opportunities.
Perform other duties as required.
Marina Management
Oversee day-to-day marina operations executed by Front Desk agents, including slip assignments, vessel check-ins/check-outs, dock services, and guest communications.
Administer and manage all marina tenant contracts, including:
Lease preparation, renewals, and compliance tracking
Slip rental billing, payment processing, and documentation
Ongoing communication and relationship management with marina tenants
Maintain accurate marina records, including vessel logs, occupancy, billing, and maintenance schedules.
Conduct regular inspections of marina infrastructure and coordinate necessary repairs or maintenance.
Enforce marina safety standards and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Secondary School Diploma
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience an asset
Minimum 1 year in a hotel leadership role
Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal & leadership skills
Ability to excel and perform well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and PMS software required

Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and some overnights
