Fuse Developer – Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, Java/Spring
Opportunity to support digital transformation in the P&C insurance industry through advanced integration work using Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, and Java. Contribute to secure and scalable API development in a hybrid environment. Work with Agile teams on innovative, high-impact initiatives. Onsite 3 days/week in Markham.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $65-70 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $75-80 per hour.
• 10-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Hybrid model: 3 days per week on-site, subject to change.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain integration flows using Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, and ActiveMQ to support insurance business processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and application teams to gather integration requirements across policy, billing, and claims systems.
• Develop and expose RESTful and SOAP APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange with brokers, reinsurers, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure that integrations are secure, scalable, and aligned with industry standards and data privacy regulations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and DevOps activities to support quality and timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to middleware and integration flows.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Red Hat Fuse, Apache Camel, or JBoss Fuse.
• Strong command of Java and the Spring Framework.
• Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns and message-oriented middleware.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins.
• Effective communication and analytical skills, with the ability to perform in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with insurance core systems such as Guidewire is a strong asset.
Nice to have:
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservice design.
• Exposure to AWS (e.g., Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, ECS).
• Familiarity with Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of insurance data standards (e.g., ACORD) and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FSRA, OSFI).
• Experience with observability tools such as ELK Stack, Prometheus, or Grafana.
