General Placement Description
Assist Torontonians using the Access and Resource Centre (ARC) with knowledge of computer programs, email accounts, internet navigation and printing.
Major Activities
Individuals within this placement will:
Assist ARC users to the computer system within the ARC
Assist ARC users with basic computer skills
Greet ARC users and introduce them to the ARC caseworkers
Share knowledge and skills by assisting clients with Microsoft Office and internet navigation
Assist ARC users in creating email accounts, passwords, support and troubleshooting

Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge and experience using office systems including Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
Intermediate computer skills and experience in creating complex charts, templates, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations
Demonstrated experience training/teaching in the area of computer applications
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion in dealing with confidential matters
Exceptional customer service skills and interest working with people from diverse groups within the community
Interpersonal skills, sound decision making and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to receive work direction from others
Ability to problem solve and work under the pressure of time constraints
Patience, a positive attitude, adaptability and willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this position
Days per week: To be determined
Hours per month (not to exceed 70 hours): 25-70 hours/month
Duration of placement: 3 months with the possibility of an extension
