Intern, Data Scientist
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary
The Intern, Data Scientist is responsible for working with CN’s Data Science and Machine Learning Operations (MLops) teams to assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets. The position ensures automation and consistency across big data for the Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) model training.
Main Responsibilities
Develop and test predictive models using scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras
Clean and manipulate data using Pandas and NumPy
Conduct statistical analysis using Python and PySpark Libraries
Engage in text mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects, leveraging techniques like sentiment analysis and topic modeling to extract insights from textual data
Conduct outlier detection and anomaly detection analyses to identify and interpret unusual data points, enhancing model robustness and data integrity
Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards
Create visualizations and reports using Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Power BI
Requirements
Strong understanding of statistical and ML concepts and algorithms such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, and neural networks
Strong skills in programming languages such as Python
Experience in developing machine learning models such as Supervised Learning, unsupervised, semi-supervised and Few-Shot Learning algorithms
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools demonstrating the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively
Applies critical thinking

Solves problems to create value
Education
Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), ML or a related field of study
