Position Summary
The Financial Analyst plays a key role in maintaining accurate invoices, payment processing, and financial reporting. This role is responsible for data congruence across systems, supports the monthly financial close, and provides responsive, customer-focused support to all departments and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with comfort working in a tech-driven environment and thrives on solving problems efficiently with little direction.
Key Responsibilities
Coverage of main email account for incoming accounting and finance related communications and support for all departments within the organization.
Support month-end close procedures including but not limited to bank reconciliations, accrual entries, warranty provisions, processing A/R and A/P transactions, processing client changes to billing information.
Run system reports and financial data extracts to support calculations used in entries.
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, purchase orders, and invoices to support bank account reconciliations, including many entries and accounts in foreign currencies.
Audit customer accounts and transactions to ensure accurate and timely invoices following various custom processes for larger clients.
Prepare and process payments to key suppliers with a focus on accuracy within tight timeframes.
Prepare and issue invoices, statements, and related reports in accordance with company standards as required in regular duties.
Provide customer service support as needed to internal and external stakeholders including payment processing, refunds, and account inquiries.
Prepare periodic financial summaries, cost statements, and ad hoc reports as requested.
Support process improvements within finance team workflows and financial systems.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Customer Experience to ensure accurate customer payments, credits and other data alignment.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a technology or SaaS environment.
CPA or other accounting designation is considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid understanding of accounting principles, standard invoicing processes, and month end close procedures.
Proficiency with accounting software and strong Excel skills; experience with ERP or CRM systems (e.g., XERO, Dext, NetSuite, HubSpot, or similar) is an asset.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
Manage ambiguity with a positive mindset and focus on problem solving in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and resolve discrepancies.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptable to changing systems, tools, and processes in a growing tech environment.
