Working in the Corporate Information Technology team located in Ottawa, Ontario, the - Endpoint Security Administrator is responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and compliance of enterprise systems through effective patching and vulnerability remediation. The Endpoint Security Administrator is responsible for planning, testing, deploying, and verifying operating system, firmware, and application patches across enterprise infrastructure. This role ensures all systems remain secure, compliant, and up to date while minimizing disruption to business operations.

What the job is all about:
Plan, coordinate, and execute monthly and emergency patching cycles for servers, endpoints, and applications
Maintain accurate patch inventory across production, test, and development environments
Test patches in a controlled staging environment before enterprise rollout
Ensure change management approval for all patch deployments
Work with Corporate Security to remediate vulnerabilities identified in scans
Verify patch compliance against standards (ISO 27001, CIS, NIST) where required
Generate compliance and remediation reports for management and audits
Manage patching tools
Develop scripts and automation routines to improve deployment efficiency
Troubleshoot failed deployments and document corrective actions.
Coordinate patch schedules with system owners, application teams, and CAB
Be familiar with Change Management processes
Communicate patch impacts, risks, and post-deployment results
Support after-hours maintenance windows as required
Maintain patch compliance dashboards and KPIs
Analyze patch success rates and refine processes
Participate in infrastructure upgrades and vulnerability management programs
Assist in the creation and upkeep of instructional documentation
Who you are:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
3–5 years’ experience in systems administration or infrastructure management.
Technical Skills: Patch management tools (WSUS, Autopatch, DELL Open Manage Enterprise, Intune, Kace, Ansible, Ubuntu Landscape, VMware Lifecycle Manager), knowledge of Tenable
Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation
Operating Systems: Strong understanding Windows Server (2012–2022), Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS), VMware ESXi
Networking: Basic IP, DNS, Palo Alto firewall, Aruba Access Points, understanding for remote patching
Infrastructure: DELL (switches/servers), Palo Alto, Aruba, VMware
Security: Vulnerability management and compliance awareness
Palo Alto Networks security tools
Strong experience with Microsoft O365, Entra ID, and Active Directory
Strong planning, testing, and deployment skills regarding patch management.
Soft Skills: Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication and team working skills
Bonus points if you have the following:
Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator / Azure Administrator
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
CompTIA Security+ or ITIL Foundation
PMP (nice to have)
Other:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, a reliable vehicle is a must
Office Environment
Able to work with equipment, which may involve climbing ladder to run cable, lifting computers, crouching to assemble equipment, etc.
