The Family Support Worker provides support, information, advocacy, and community connections to families. This role delivers both virtual and in-person parent groups, conducts home visits, and collaborates closely with a multi-disciplinary team. Using a case-management and wraparound approach, the Family Support Worker contributes to positive outcomes for children and families.
What you bring to the team
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Human Ecology, or Child and Youth Care.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Experience working with socially, economically, and / or culturally diverse children and their families.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proof of vehicle insurance, registration, and a 3-year driver’s abstract.
Important work you will do at e4c
- Schedule and perform home visitations with families in support of identifying and reaching their goals.
- Deliver developmental screenings on children while providing appropriate referrals and supports to families.
- Coordinate and facilitate play and parent groups based upon developmental needs.
- Work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide wrap around communication supports for children.
- De-brief and consult with program partners, inter-agency members and other community stakeholders to network and establish collaborative partnerships.
- Input and manage case documentation on School Cloud database.
