The Program Support Manager provides contract management support to the Surface Vessel Program and projects. This role focuses on contract compliance, process improvement and regular monitoring of contract deliverables. In addition, the role assists with managing minor programs and maintaining tools, templates, and methodologies needed for effective program outcomes.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 825 Admirals Road, Victoria.
What You'll Do
Support surface vessel contract management including development, review and governance of reporting requirements.
Coordinate the development of various contractual deliverables for submission internally or to the client.
Support continuous improvement on the program by leading various initiatives or contributing to initiatives as a representative of the Surface Vessels Program Management Office.
Manage execution of minor program work, as required, with support from other departments.
Support oversight of electronic client interface tools.
Support the Program Controls Office to develop, review and report on risks.
Support reporting requirements on the Program, including financial/cost analysis, project performance and quality.
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of program milestone and/or progress payments.
Support the development and negotiation of program/project bids.
Assist senior management in preparing and reviewing and updating project management plans, standard operating procedures and other program guidance documents.
Support customer audits as required.
Prepare presentations, reports, metrics and correspondence to advise of project/program status, to be used for information and decision-making purposes.
Other duties assigned by the Program Director.
What You'll Bring
Completion of a Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in project management, contracting, or technical operations in a shipyard environment or similar.
Experience with naval or defense programs is an asset.
Professional designation(s) are an asset.
Strong foundation in project management principles, tools, and reporting.
Demonstration of exemplary business ethics, integrity and honesty in all situations.
Proven ability to understand and meet client needs, with a service driven mindset.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; capable of taking initiative and solving complex problems.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both in writing and in person.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Oracle ERP systems is an asset.

The estimated salary for this position is $135,000 - $165,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
