PURPOSE: Assist project team in the coordination of detailed projects including proper recordkeeping, on-time delivery of materials, and change order management. Cultivate a positive customer service environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s safety programs and standards.
Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values.
Contact customers at the start of each project and be proactive throughout the project in coordinating all aspects of the job.
Coordinate project requirements with contractor and detailer to ensure submittal of drawings and the delivery of all contracted material meets customer’s schedule.
Attend site meetings with the detailer as required to support Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s customer focus.
Produce necessary documents and coordinate orders in Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system.
Assist supervisor in the review of projects; help resolve discrepancies.
Understand Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s standard contract management procedures Maintain contract file, monitor lump sums for over-runs and final invoicing.
Manage and place orders for non-rebar materials as required.
Control the contract with the use of Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s business system.
Track change-orders through business system. Develop a working knowledge of CRSI Manual of Standard Practice, reinforced concrete construction and other industry practices.
Perform other duties as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED
Minimum two years of hands-on rebar placing experience or experience as a construction foreman with strong familiarity in rebar installation
Strong understanding of how construction jobsites operate, including coordination with trades, reading drawings, site sequencing and safety compliance.
Possess excellent communication and time management skills
Possess independent judgment and excellent organizational skills
Able to coordinate multiple projects and work under deadline pressure
Possess critical thinking skills and the ability to creatively problem solve
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Two to three years’ experience in a construction environment
Extensive knowledge of reinforcing bar placement, detailing, and concrete reinforcement practices.
Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes
Red Seal Ironworker Certification
