As a Data Governance Lead you will be executing RAC Group data governance and data management directives under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Data Governance, to enable our federated businesses (domains) assess, maintain, protect and enrich our data assets in accordance with agreed principles, policies and standards while proactively contributing to the operationalisation of the enterprise Data Governance Framework. What will you be doing? Supporting Data Governance: Assisting the Senior Manager, Data Governance in operationalising best practice data capabilities into the data domains and federated lines of business across the RAC enterprise. Supporting Strategic Programs of Work: Providing material support for the data, privacy and security programs of work currently in play to uplift, evolve and embed our data capabilities, through the operationalisation plan for the Data Governance Framework. Leading Relationship Management: Proactively engaging with technical, risk and compliance, business, data owners/data stewards and SME stakeholders to promote effective data governance and data management (we based our data governance framework on the DMBOK) across the organisation, providing clear communication about progress, challenges, and deliverables to the Enterprise Data Council. Enhancing Data Management: Support business domains in managing critical data by defining quality rules and lifecycle processes, ensuring secure external sharing, proper disposal, compliance with business and legal requirements, and effective classification and oversight of data assets to enable risk-aware decision-making. Driving Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation, recommending controls and standards to enhance data quality and processing efficiency. Understanding Change Impacts: Supporting and performing data impact assessments to ensure that negative impact from change on our data assets are minimised, through clarity and engagement with key functional participants. Administering Data Support: Managing data-related workflows to support data management activities, ensuring tasks and issues are registered and managed accurately and effectively. What are we looking for in you? Industry Experience: Experience in the financial services or insurance industries is desirable. Data Management: Familiarity with data management frameworks (DMBOK, DCAM as examples) and tools (Microsoft stack, Experian as examples) is desirable. Stakeholder Engagement: Proven and demonstrable experience dealing with both business and technical stakeholders. Business and Systems Analysis: Experience in Business Analysis or Systems Analysis is highly regarded. Attention to Detail: Strong data entry, processing skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills at all levels. Problem Solving Skills: demonstratable success with solving business problems Organisational Abilities: Ability to organise, multitask, and manage varied priorities and follow-ups, with availability for operational hours and reasonable overtime.
