What you will be doing in the role of Process Mechanical Engineer, Senior:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Validate engineering work and seal documents prepared by junior engineers.
Lead design reviews (HAZOP/LOPA) and provide expert recommendations.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement; delegate tasks as needed.
Review sales proposals for technical accuracy and customer alignment.
Advise on design strategy, planning, and deliverables to optimize project execution.
Lead site audits and FEED studies; oversee technical report quality.
Specify and size process equipment for complex projects.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Set and improve piping specifications and best practices; mentor team members.
Manage multi-disciplinary engineering projects, ensuring communication, schedules, budgets, and technical delivery.
Oversee regulatory submissions and compliance.
Ensure timely, high-quality engineering deliverables.
Serve as the primary technical contact for customers.
Provide advanced troubleshooting during commissioning and site activities.
Develop and enforce design/documentation standards.
Guide project engineers and customers throughout project execution.
Review service estimates and implementation plans.
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
P.Eng designation required
Preferred designation in the following:
Certified Process Designation Professional (CPDP)
Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)
Lean Six Sigma – Black Belt
Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering-related role
Proven ability to manage technical deliverables and project timelines independently
Proven ability to provide leadership in complex projects
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working alongside Sales, Service, and other departments
Expert knowledge of ASME, API, CSA standards, piping design, and modular skid systems
Strong background in process equipment selection, integration, and advanced calculations
Experience with shop fabrication, site installation, and sanitary process systems
Skilled in risk assessment, HAZOP/LOPA, and regulatory compliance
Proficient in cross-functional collaboration, project lifecycle management, and cost analysis
Leadership, mentoring, and strategic planning abilities
Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
