The Senior Health & Safety Coordinator ensures that federal and provincial health and safety and emergency management legislation requirements are met by the Corporation. This includes identifying health and safety and emergency management improvement areas, recognizing issues of non-compliance and providing corrective recommendations, as well as provide support and guidance to foster a culture of health and safety and emergency management excellence. Position Details Non-union - This position is permanent full time. Key Accountabilities Maintain accurate records of safety programs, inspections and incidents. Review and support safety metrics and trends. Conduct and coordinate audits and inspections of Corporate facilities and work locations throughout the province to ensure health and safety compliance to federal and provincial legislation. Work to manage, monitor, develop and implement safety programs. Prepare and deliver safety training, workshops and resources. Develop and implement new Corporate Safety & Health program policies, standards and procedures. Participate in the Corporation's Emergency Response activities. Support the maintenance of the Corporation’s Emergency Management Program and related practices and procedures. Participate on committees and special projects focused on enhancing the Corporation's safety and health programs and emergency management practices. Investigate workplace incidents, hazards and near misses as assigned. Provide guidance and interpret the application of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. Other related duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline. Four (4) years progressive health and safety experience including responsibility in project management, pipeline regulations and/or emergency management. A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. Additional Information Travel, including overnight stays away from headquarters, is required on occasion. A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
