In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our Outages division is currently hiring for an Outage Execution Manger. The Outage Execution Manager is accountable for managing the project through preparation of detailed plans and coordinating execution of assigned outages/MCRs. This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario. What will you be responsible for? Provide support to the Department Manager in managing the Department in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures, and agreements Ownership of the preparation of the assigned outage/MCR schedule Accountability for managing the execution of detailed plans and coordinating execution of assigned outages/MCRs Provide strong leadership during outages/MCRs to the outage planning team and teams executing work in the outage/MCR Work closely with the Outage Control Center (OCC)/Project Control Center (PCC) staff to ensure proper oversight of critical activities Develop relationships with line managers to aid in removing barriers and ensure execution of the schedule as planned Liaise between the OCC/PCC and the Operations shift personnel Perform look ahead reviews of schedules, resource loading, and ensuring groups are ready to respond to perform those activities should the schedule adjust Support the OCC/PCC in keeping the Shift log up to date and maintain a log of outstanding issues owners and committed dates as well as identifying risks and tracking resolution Liaise between work management outages, work management on-line, Major Component Replacement (MCR) and the OCC to manage work in multiple projects Manage outage/MCR scope additions/deletions using the Scope Review Panel process Report out to Senior Executives regarding outage/MCR status, work progress, and challenges Ensure that Outage Status Reports/MCR reports are prepared accurately and timely and review the report with the Executives Monitor and challenge critical path for opportunities and future enhancement of processes and procedures Utilize procedure adherence and monitoring compliance to ensure correct and safe practices are followed, and plant reliability and availability are maintained at a high standard Ensure that all personnel in the Department are appropriately trained for the tasks delegated to them and have appropriate qualifications and authorizations Provide day to day coordination of outage/MCR preparation and execution activities Ensure value for money and achievement of the business plan with the outage/MCR being delivered on time and on schedule Monitor performance and initiate any actions necessary to correct any adverse trends Participate in the Emergency Response Organization as required Perform role of Duty Outage Manager (DOM) during planned or forced outages Managerial Accountabilities: Manage the unit outage/MCR as well as coordinate the efforts of others (i.e., control operators, projects, etc.) to ensure that the continuous improvement process is adhered to and achieve the approved programs and targeted results through: Provide a safe and healthy work environment Accountability for the outputs of others Maintain a team of dedicated direct reports who are capable of producing the outputs required Providing leadership to subordinates, so that they collaborate competently, and with full commitment Ensure staff from other areas implement changes that are impacting on the outage process Provide daily/weekly updates on progress of outages/MCR and changes to the process to the CEO and Executive team Demonstrating stewardship of assets and resources Knowledge and Skills In-depth knowledge of the principles of planning, scheduling and project management High-level of credibility to influence large groups of professionals and experienced peers Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to work shifts is considered an asset Excellence communication skills - written and verbal Comfort in working with many individuals at higher levels of the organization Drive for continual improvement Education and Experience 4-year university degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering or Project Management Minimum 8 years’ experience, up to and including 10 years of experience planning, scheduling or project management of industrial-scale outages (nuclear, power related outage experience preferred) 3 + years of experience managing, leading and mentoring staff Operations background or experience preferred Prior experience with Maximo and Primavera 6 is an asset Previous Duty Outage Manager or Outage Control Centre/Project Control Centre experience is an asset Are you ready for a change?
