WHAT YOU WILL DO Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Compliance this position is responsible for evaluating and validating Masco Canada products safely and ensuring good quality according to established laboratory procedures. Working closely with Product Engineering, Compliance, and Product Management teams, the main duties include conducting experimental and validation tests, adhering to relevant standards and procedures, maintaining ISO 17025 lab accreditation, developing and using test equipment, analyzing data, preparing reports, managing testing projects, and providing documentation and cost estimates for equipment and repairs. Primary Responsibilities Test new and existing products through rigorous procedures to validate performance and reliability, documenting results according to industry standards. Sustain in-house lab ISO 17025 accreditation by adhering to all applicable corporate policies and procedures, participating in regular trainings and proficiency testing with other labs. Ensure Compliance with industry standards and Masco Canada test methods by monitoring processes and updating documentation periodically. Perform internal and support external audits for Engineering and Compliance and help resolve audit issues. Develop, operate, and maintain automated test equipment and fixtures for optimal product evaluation. Analyze data, prepare reports, and manage projects to meet deadlines. Participate in project reviews and department meetings to provide technical input and collaborate on initiatives. Document designs of equipment and fixtures for accurate records and compliance. Estimate costs for equipment and repairs by assessing needs and coordinating with vendors. Train engineering staff as needed, developing programs to enhance team skills. Support annual Compliance audits and help maintain the ERP registry with accurate data. Ensure compliance with the Masco Canada Product Compliance Management System This role is not permitted to conduct Compliance validation tests. Follow all area work instructions and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are adhered Report any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept and the supervisor WHAT YOU WILL BRING Graduate of a 2–4 year technologist program from a recognized college. 4-5 years of experience in a similar or related position. Experience with lab instruments, hand tools and electronic test equipment. Strong computer and software skills: experience with RSLogix, microcontrollers and LabVIEW. Plumbing industry experience would be considered an asset. Solid problem solving skills and attention to detail. High degree of initiative and motivation and willingness to work proactively, either independently or within a team. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience gathering, analyzing and accurately recording test data. Working knowledge of MS Word & MS Excel. CRITICAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 4-5 years of experience in a technologist position within a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge industrial control and test software/tools (e.g., RSLogix, LabVIEW) Analytical mindset with the ability to assess data and implement effective solutions Effective communication skills for engaging with teams, suppliers, and customers Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation capabilities Proactive and process-focused approach to continuous improvement and risk mitigation WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
