Contribute to the company’s sales targets by developing innovative automation and material handling solutions, with a strong focus on Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) technology. Support the quoting process by creating concepts that meet customer requirements as outlined in RFQs. Prepare CAD drawings, cost details, and supporting documentation to secure projects. Collaborate with AMR Program Manager and Regional Managers to clarify client processes and present proposals. Act as a technical resource for other departments regarding AMR projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design automation concepts integrating AMR and related material handling systems in compliance with company and client standards.
Create supporting AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings, including layouts for AMR navigation paths and docking stations.
Develop detailed cost estimates for AMR-based solutions.
Interface with customers to gather technical details and clarify requirements for mobile robotics and automation.
Communicate concept details to Sales, Management, Customers, and Project teams.
Produce turnkey proposals for projects involving AMR systems.
Research emerging AMR technologies and collaborate with suppliers for technical and cost data.
Maintain quote-related data (specifications, estimates, drawings) according to company standards.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company policies during concept development.
Position Requirements:
Ability to develop innovative technical concepts for mobile robotics and automated material handling.
Strong knowledge of AMR or AGV-related technologies
Familiarity with fleet management software and integration with automation systems.
Proficiency in 2D/3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks for conceptual layouts and 3D modeling.
Some understanding of control systems, PLCs, and communication protocols used in AMR environments.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Ability to travel to customer sites when necessary. Travel would be throughout North America.

Works independently within established guidelines and standards; escalates complex or unusual issues to senior authority.
Responsible for creating and detailing turnkey AMR projects; work reviewed for completeness and technical soundness.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in engineering or related discipline.
College or University degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in automation, 2 years of exposure to AMR technology.
Experience in machine design and material handling automation is an asset.
Familiarity with simulation tools for AMR traffic and workflow optimization.
Special Requirements:
Frequent presence on the shop floor and in engineering areas.
Occasional travel to customer sites, vendors, or other company locations.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment with competing priorities.
