Quality Technician (6-Month Contract)
$25-$30 per hour
Full-Time | Onsite | 8:30am-5:00pm
Mississauga
We are currently hiring a Quality Technician to join our client's team on a 6-month contract, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate brings hands-on quality experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Support New Product Development and Change Management with engineering and supplier teams.
Assist with calibration schedules and execute calibration activities per IAPMO standards.
Verify production work and maintain adherence to the Quality Management System.
Support PPAP submissions; complete First Article Inspections and process data collection.
Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
Conduct internal audits for manufacturing processes and final products.
Participate in quality management system audits as required.
Report supplier nonconformances through internal and global reporting systems.
Assist with nonconforming material containment and corrective actions.
Communicate with internal teams to resolve customer quality issues.
Participate in quality or engineering projects as assigned.
Support Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
2-3 years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, welding, machine shop, or fabrication environment
Knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, 8D, and 5-Why problem solving
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience using hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Strong communication skills and teamwork ability
Forklift or stock-handling experience considered an asset
Strong computer skills and attention to detail
