The City of Edmonton's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team is looking for a Systems Analyst to join our innovative and collaborative team. What will you do?
Oversee and manage data handling, including data entry, monitoring, and quality assurance, across more than 10 distinct corporate systems such as GIS, SAP, and Tririga
Design, develop, and troubleshoot automated system integrations and data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure a seamless flow of information
Develop and distribute reports, dashboards, and analytical models to provide leaders and stakeholders with timely, data-driven insights
Drive data governance as "power user," executing routine audits, and collaborating with data stewards to validate quality and enforce organizational integrity standards
Routinely monitor data uploads and perform audits to validate quality, security, and compliance
Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for systems and data, translating findings into actionable intelligence that influences business decisions
Collaborate closely with a network of over 20 data stewards to resolve data discrepancies, enforce governance standards, and promote best practices
Partner with peers and people leaders to share findings and drive process optimization and system enhancements
Act as a subject matter expert on data governance, collaborating closely with a network of data stewards to resolve discrepancies, enforce standards, and promote best practices
Translate business needs from various departments into technical specifications to design sustainable, long-term solutions that improve data flows and s ystem performance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
A minimum of 3-5 years of combined experience in systems engineering, data governance, and business analysis
Hands-on experience building system integrations, managing data within a governance framework, and acting as a subject matter expert or "power user" for complex systems
Skills required for success:
Expertise managing data for a suite of corporate systems, as a "power user" to execute routine audits and enforce best practices for data entry, monitoring, quality assurance, and compliance
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to dissect complex information and identify the root cause of technical issues
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams
A proactive and independent work ethic with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Proven experience using business intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or Google Looker

Work Environment:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
