Your opportunity:
Working with a dynamic team and under the general direction of the Director, Student Engagement and Campus Life, you will be dedicated to the enrichment of the co-curricular life of the campus by serving as the main front-line support for the Student Life Programs office.
You will assume primary responsibility for Student Life Programs’ frontline services ensuring all visitors receive student-centric tailored information, support and referrals including matters related to Campus Groups, the Co-Curricular Record (CCR), Community Engagement, First Year Programs, Black Student Programs, and the Imani Academic Mentorship Program.
You will also provide administrative support for the department, including supporting logistical details for events, making minor purchases, agendas and meeting minutes, and maintaining records on various institutional platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
- Booking rooms and arranging appropriate accommodations
- Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
- Identifying and introducing variations to established administration processes
- Writing routine documents and correspondence
- Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Making minor purchases and collaborating on cost estimates
Essential Qualifications:
- College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum two years of work-related experience in a student development/student life role at the post-secondary educational level
- Experience working with diverse communities, student advising and an ability to work within an anti-oppressive/equity framework
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Intermediate computer proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Must possess the ability to relate to students in a manner that builds trust and confidence
- Must have the ability to manage competing priorities
- Must show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment

USW Pay Band 07 -- $60,237. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $77,035. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
