The Corporate Sales & Structuring group is a team within Trading Products Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) responsible for originating and executing hedging and financing transactions for BMO’s corporate and commercial clients. Working closely with investment, corporate and commercial banking, the team serves as product experts with a coverage universe including foreign exchange, interest rate and equity derivatives, structured finance, equity linked securities and commodities.
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting directly to the Director & Head, Canadian Commercial FX Sales, this position is a client facing role, responsible for quoting, executing and designing/presenting foreign exchange risk management solution transactions for mid/large-sized commercial entities across Canada. The candidate contributes to the overall profitability of the Foreign Exchange Group through the maintenance of strong relationships with commercial clients, internal partners and by ensuring proactive engagement within the client segment. Applicants are being considered in Calgary and Toronto.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS:
1) Commercial Client FX Sales.
Provide pricing of foreign exchange currencies to Bank of Montreal commercial client segment
Quote & execute spot, forward, swap & options trades.
Proactively engage commercial banking clients with FX trade ideas & risk management solutions.
Utilize data analysis skillset & internal relationships to identify new client opportunities.
Provide demos of Online Banking for Business (OLBB) to clients and troubleshoot issues
Assist with onboarding & regulatory requirements for new clients
Research and analyze financial market data; summarize data for recent trends and market developments
2) Systems and Information Management
Utilize Bloomberg & internal currency pricing tools & systems.
Assist mid-market group with electronic systems
Use appropriate systems to accurately price FX products & monitor credit exposures.
Incorporate AI tools to improve efficiencies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge
An undergraduate degree with outstanding academic achievement
Specific academic coursework in finance, economics, math, engineering or accounting
Strong understanding of, and keen interest in, the operation of the financial markets
Relevant experience within financial markets in a client facing role is preferred
Familiarity with basic derivatives including options and swaps
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, other groups, and clients. Need to be personable, confident, credible.
Highly developed professional written and oral communication skills with a proactive mindset
Excellent analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools including MS Excel. Strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office products
Programming ability in VBA desired but not required
Ability to be creative, insightful and resourceful in performance of duties.
Ability to function in a demanding team environment, multi-task under what can be short timelines, and manage multiple projects and requests in an organized manner
Excellent capability to independently function as part of a team through self-motivation.
The starting salary range for this role is $120,000 CAD at the Associate level or $160,000 CAD at the Vice President level (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements).

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
