Intern, Procurement and Supply Management (P&SM) – Category Fuel
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary
The Intern, Procurement and Supply Management (P&SM) – Category Fuel will work closely with Category Analysts and Managers to support the development of strategic sourcing projects and the continuous improvement of key reporting activities. The incumbent will have the opportunity to learn CN’s procurement processes and category management best practices across Locomotive Diesel and Misc. Fuel portfolios, all while collaborating with internal stakeholders such as Business, Legal, Safety, Compliance, and Finance, as well as interacting with external suppliers. Furthermore, the intern will gain exposure to core systems and tools such as SAP, Tableau, and SmartSheet used to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to financial and operating metrics that are fundamental to CN’s fuel operations.
Main Responsibilities
Perform baseline spend analysis in preparation for sourcing project development
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and build business requirements for sourcing project development
Support development of supplier evaluation matrices, assessment of bid proposals, and provide recommendations
Assist with implementing new business awards, including acting as liaison between internal stakeholders and new suppliers
Assist with addressing compliance to CN’s Procurement Policy and Contractor Management Program, review contract expiries, and develop action plan
Support continuous improvement of periodic fuel reporting activities, including tracking and reporting of KPIs

Knowledge of financial aspects such as Net Present Value (NPV), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI)
Knowledge of software systems (SAP, Tableau, SmartSheet, PowerBI)
Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)
Education
Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
