The primary responsibility of this position is to supply parts to internal and external customers, monitor inventory at the branches solving any related inventory issues, administer parts/inventory system, perform cycle counts. Provide support to LEAN initiatives and work with the Senior Director to develop new and improved processes.

Duties:
Parts Counter
Over the counter coverage, both walk-in and phone, in a professional and timely manner for both truck and trailer parts
Provide quotes and pricing to customers
Process parts orders, purchase orders and sales in the system
Source parts from vendors for non-stock and out of stock, to fill orders
Process and follow up on purchase orders to maintain billing and aging targets
Escalate any customer, inventory and delivery issues to direct report to expedite resolution
Other related tasks/duties as assigned
Inventory
Assist in reporting/transfers for replenishment of other branches
Assist the team with cycle counts and review required adjustments with team
Identify fast moving and critical truck parts to assist with growing inventory
LEAN Continuous Improvement
Support “Lean” and quality process improvements initiatives
Ensure Standard Work documents are up to date and encourage involvement and improvement.
Work continuously to identify and eliminate wastes.
Contribute to implementation of improved branch replenishment process.
Backup Tasks
Support for work orders and quoting – adding parts to correct tasks& resolving inventory issues.
Picking parts from inventory to fill orders for customers and branch replenishment.
Transfer parts to branches as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training
Grade 12 with parts training
Parts Technician with Ontario College of Trades would be an asset
Skills and Experience
5 years previous experience working with parts and inventory (truck & trailer)
Able to operate equipment assigned to parts area
Attention to details
Strong customer service focus
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong data entry skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good computer skills
